Our projects.
Embassy Village.
40 high quality homes, each with their own front door
Community spaces for socialising, eating, mentoring, training, sports, and wellness
Wraparound support and a real life practice run at managing a home, getting a grip on finances and starting work
Embassy Village is a pioneering approach to tackling homelessness and deprivation by providing homeless people with their own front door in a purpose-built village.
The village will give residents a live practice experience of managing their own home in a supported environment, with the close support and guidance of our skilled resettlement team.
Our scheme will help address and overcome obstacles that many people encounter when trying to move forward and gain a stable foothold in our communities.
The 40 home village including education, training, mentoring and sports facilities is due to be completed in 2024.

Our housing.
Accommodation and resettlement
Supported over 175 people so far
92% successfully housed and working
We provide men experiencing homelessness a roof over their heads and more importantly the support and training to be independent.
Supported by our fantastic Embassy team, residents learn to budget, shop, cook and manage a home, whilst being mentored and guided through a recovery course. It’s all a real life practice run at managing a home, getting a grip on finances and starting work.
Our staff find and help them get a permanent home and visit housed guests regularly to support them to settle in and transition well into their new life.
Around half of the people housed in shelters return to the streets due to loneliness. 92% of the men we’ve worked with remain in their own homes.
Women’s housing.
Safe, discreet housing for women
Managed by women, exclusively for women
Tailored specifically to the women’s needs
A lot of women facing homelessness are there because of an abusive partner. So rather than have a village for women that is easily located, we’ve developed discreet women’s housing across multiple locations with small numbers in each home to reduce risk.
Our women’s project is staffed by an all female team, with support tailored to the women’s experience. Alongside support, we provide training and life skills to lift our residents out of poverty and homelessness into work and a home of their own.
We’re currently working towards expanding our housing and support for women by building bespoke homes.
Other initiatives.
10% of our funds are donated to causes in Greater Manchester and beyond
We provide funding to Kanzi Kibera, providing meals to homeless children
Our residents volunteer with Kanzi Kibera, helping with building work at schools in Nairobi
We have a relationship with Kanzi Kibera, a charity based in the Kibera slum in Kenya. It feeds 650 homeless children a day to encourage them to attend 4 schools run by 35 incredible volunteers. The slum is home to approximately 1 million people squatting in desperate conditions. Each month, Embassy puts aside a proportion of unrestricted funds to help feed the children. This is because while we care for the urban poor in the UK, we don’t want to forget the poorest of the poor. We are a Christian charity and believe in a principle called tithing whereby 10% of our unrestricted funds are shared with other relevant causes in Greater Manchester and beyond.
We also take Embassy residents over to Nairobi to volunteer and undertake building work at the schools. It’s an extremely powerful experience for those Embassy residents who go. For many, it’s their first time abroad and while they may return to the same old problems, they come back with a remarkable new perspective and appreciation for the possessions and opportunities they do have here in the UK.
